Nelson Fabio Cordoba is a careful, judicious producer cultivating all of our favourite varietals (caturra, tabi, pink bourbon, bourbon aji and gesha) on his 5 hectare farm “Vegas del Chuscal”. We’ve been enjoying the fruits of his labours since 2017.
Nelson’s committed to farming in ways that reduce his dependency on chemical inputs and improve his farm’s health, using “super magro” and decomposed coffee pulp (cherry skin) as an aid alongside conventional fertilisers. He manages his farm with three family members, and attributes his success to his fertile soils and great climate (we think it’s this too, but only in combination with his excellent management).
Ripe cherries are picked and fermented for 24 hours in cherry form, then depulped and fermented semi- anaerobically in beautiful stainless steel tanks for 24-30 hours. This lot is from August 2024, and, be warned, it will sell out quickly!
We paid Nelson $3,000,000 pesos per carga in September 2024 (via our Colombian buying/exporting arm Shared Source)
